I took my daughter and a friend to Six Flags yesterday for her 13th birthday.  Wow was it hot.  I had a plan, we would go to Superman first since the lines are usually long there.  Big mistake.  When we got there, we were actually second in line in the queue.  We waited for the ride to start, and waited, and waited.  Finally, we were told the gates were unlocked going into the ride area (on the hill) and they couldn't start the ride until maintenance arrived and locked them.  The workers said they were called at 9:30.  It was now about 11:00.  Finally, at around 11:15, they showed up and locked them.  They made all of us that were in line go out of the line queue area (the shaded area) and wait outside the gates (in the sun) so they could test the rides, so everybody lost their place in line.  My daughter's friend starts saying she feels sick and then she passes out.  OMG.  I almost freaked out.  They called security and a very nice security guard helped us to his car which was waiting behind skull island and drove us to the first aid station.  Thankfully, she was fine.  They just said to go ahead and eat something and drink plenty of water throughout the day.  After we left first aid, the first place they saw was the mexican food place.  I did not want that.  My choice was the pizza, but they won out.  The food portions are huge.  The three of us could have shared the nachos and I would have saved some $$$.  The food really wasn't too bad but mexican and hot weather and rides just don't mix. We decided to take it easy at first and rode Monster Mansion (loved the changes) and then thunder river.  We rode Batman, the Mindbender, and the swings (which went around maybe two times - don't remember it being so short), the Scorcher, and the log ride.  My daughter's friend wasn't feeling too good again so we decided to call it a day.  Didn't get to ride everything we wanted to, but all in all, it was a good day.  I thought The lines were a little longer than the last time I went during the week.

Interesting trip report.  Thanks for taking the time to share that with us.   Sorry to hear about your friend's daughter.  Strange way to start the day and be detoured from your original game plan.   I liked your comment about the "Crime Wave" swings.   I took my 6 year old niece there at end of June.   She had been riding the "baby swings" in Bugs Bunny land but I finally convinced her to try Crime Wave.  She loved it (we rode 3 times straight) but I could not get over the briefness of the ride cycle.   I could understand them doing that during a really crowded day (Saturdays in July, also around July 4) but that really takes away from the fun of the ride.

That heat can be brutal  evil  .  When we go in July, we usually make plans to attend one of the "Pure Country" shows in the Crystal Pistol during the afternoon heat.  I can take or leave country music, but it's nice to sit in that air conditioning for 25-30 minutes.
